This is the first Sharon McCone mystery I've read in some time and it was like meeting a friend you've lost touch with. You're happy to see they're happy and essentially unchanged (and haven't become a Republican and/or religious evangelical), but you're a little overwhelmed by how much history now separates you. I did enjoy the mystery, where the private detective must solve the murder of a woman everyone believes is guilty of another woman, and I like that she has the help of a very extensive network of friends, family and business partners, even as she suffers misfortunes that would discourage any ordinary person. Highly recommended.
